Adipurush Controversy: Indian Film Industry Workers Association Petitions PM Modi to Ban Prabhas-Starrer Film

Om Raut's "Adipurush," which stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh, and Devdatta Nage, boasts an all-star cast.

Controversies have clouded the debut of "Adipurush," a movie starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon. The movie has drawn criticism for both its representation of the Ramayana and its poor visual effects (VFX). The All Indian Cine Workers Association has written Prime Minister Narendra Modi a letter asking him to step in and immediately impose a ban on the movie.

The letter from the All Indian Cine Workers Association requests that the film "Adipurush" not be screened. The letter claims that the dialogue and screenplay of the movie blatantly disrespect the reputations of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman. It claims that the film offends the religious beliefs of Hindus and Santana Dharma adherents. Every Indian, both within the country and internationally, is upset by the representation of Lord Ram in the film, particularly the way Ravan looks like a video game character. Lord Ram is revered by people of all religious beliefs in India.

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the All India Cine Workers Association begs him to take action and stop the showing of the film "Adipurush." They have particularly asked that the movie not be shown in theatres or on any OTT (Over-The-Top) platforms going forward.
The All India Cine Workers Association writes that a First Information Report (FIR) must be filed against the film's producers, director Om Raut, and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla. They feel that they should be subjected to the proper legal repercussions.

The plea for the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi to step in and take action is emphasised in the letter once more. They implore him to impose a future ban on the movie "Adipurush" exhibition in theatres and on OTT platforms and to immediately order an end to the film's showing. The letter also requests that a First Information Report (FIR) be filed against the film's producer, Om Raut, Manoj Muntashir Shukla, and director Om Raut. The organisation works to defend the reputation of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, and Lord Hanuman, who are adored in Hinduism, on the grounds that these people have harmed Hindu feelings.

The letter ends by strongly objecting to stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan being linked to such an offensive film. They claim that "Adipurush" is a terrible failure that has destroyed their trust in Lord Ram and the Ramayana epic. The letter expresses extreme disappointment and displeasure with the movie and how it portrays certain subjects.

The approximate budget for "Adipurush" was $500-600 million. By Monday, it had already surpassed Rs. 300 crore at the global box office. However, the film had a sharp decline in its box office receipts, only making Rs. 20 crore, mostly as a result of unfavourable reviews.

The film, which was directed by Om Raut, stars Prabhas and Kriti Sanon as Raghava and Janaki, respectively. Sunny Singh plays the part of Lakshman, Devdatta Nage assumes the role of Bajrang, and Saif Ali Khan plays the part of Lankesh.
